At the Foot of the Stiperstones
The Wilderness is a detached cottage nestling at the foot of the Stiperstones surrounded by an English Nature reserve with immediate access to walks and hills. Originally a miners cottage, it is now ideal for anyone who enjoys exploring and to walk the breathtaking Stiperstones and other Shropshire hills or for a quiet retreat to relax and recharge your batteries.
The cottage is set in its own gardens and woodland of over 1 1/2 acres bordered by a stream. To the front there is a seating area and lawn with elevated views toward the hills, and to the rear is a large walled patio with steps up to the driveway with parking for several cars.
The Stiperstones Inn is at the bottom of the no through (no passing cars) , private single track lane leading to the property, which also runs the shop and post office next door. The cottage is situated in the middle of the ?Back to Purple? project that has been started by English Nature. ( more information on the Stiperstones web site www.stiperstones.co.uk.)
As well as the walks and hills to explore ,the cottage is within easy reach of many other Shropshire attractions such as the medieval down of Shrewsbury, the famous town of Ironbridge, market towns of Church Stretton and Bishops Castle and the Welsh Marches. |
