UPDATE:
Due to popular demand, Hadley Park House has confirmed an additional date for the Faulty Towers Dining Experience on Friday 5th of September. Tickets sold out so quickly for the 31st August, the theatre company have agreed to an extra date at Hadley Park House in Telford - the only venue they are performing at in the Midlands.
Enter the world of the snobbish, manic Basil; his domineering wife Sybil; and the hopeless language-challenged waiter Manuel. Be one of the steady stream of bemused guests trying to make Manuel understand what it is you want. Innocently ask for an ‘ice bucket’ and you’ll probably end up with a ‘nice bucket’; opening a bottle of wine can become a huge drama; and maybe in the middle of these events, you might get some service – Faulty style of course. Everything that can go wrong will - in fact this is best described as organised chaos!!
It takes a lot of courage for performers to take on the roles created and made famous by John Cleese and Connie Booth in the cult-status television series "Fawlty Towers", but now in their 11th year of performing the well-loved characters, the Interactive Theatre Australia team of Nigel Bell (Basil), Tony Nixon (Manuel) and Alison Pollard-Mansergh (Sybil) has become known as the best Fawlty Towers impersonators in the Southern Hemisphere, and possibly the world.
2008 has already seen the team perform in SELL-OUT seasons at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (after also selling out in 2007). The team embarks on a 7-week tour of the UK mid-July 2008, which includes debuting at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for 3 weeks in August.
The 2-hour interactive performance revolves around a 3-course meal (included in the ticket price), commencing with Basil and Manuel seating the guests, continuing as everyone eats, and concluding as dessert is served. Rated PG … Basil requests no riff-raff please!
“more than just stand-up … more than a comedic theatre performance and certainly more than a pub meal… two hours of fast-paced laughs and utter chaos.” – The Age, Melbourne
“genuinely one of the Fringe’s best … worth every penny (and insult).” – Rip It Up, Adelaide
“In Short, this was a night when tears rolled down faces, sides ached and split, and many a fine lash full of mascara turned into a bad Kiss caricature. Hysterical. A show not to be missed - truly." - Barfly, Cairns Post
Tickets cost just £32 per person, including a three course meal and coffee, with the performance commencing at 6.30pm. For further information and to book please telephone 01952 677269 or visit the website www.hadleypark.co.uk .
