Much Wenlock Festival 2012

Pipa Walker

Welcome to Much Wenlock Festival

The Much Wenlock Festival takes place every two years in this historic Shropshire market town. Our next festival will be in 2012 and will open on Saturday 2 June and will run until Sunday 24 June. This will be a very special year as the town celebrates its Olympian heritage and its contribution to the rebirth of the modern Olympic Games.

So many visitors to Much Wenlock are simply astonished by its charm and natural beauty and we do indeed feel privileged to be able to use many of the historic sites in this lovely market town as venues for our events. The Festival Play will once again be performed on the ancient Church Green, with the Parish Church providing a marvellous backdrop to complete the setting.

Tickets for the Festival will be available in early spring 2012, both online here at our web site and in Much Wenlock itself.
