Our three spacious two bedroomed cabins are situated within a secluded area with outstanding views of the Shropshire.

Come and explore the scenic Shropshire hills with its abundance of wildlife and history. Visit on horseback, walking or cycling.

The home of Jackie Gavyn and family, Long mountain centre offers you a self-catering holiday with a difference - a real home from home close to a area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Shropshire hills

Our traditional family run centre is located on the edge of the Shropshire Area of outstanding natural beauty and right on the Welsh border.

We are situated between Shrewsbury and Welshpool with the historic town of Oswestry only 30mins away Chester just 1 hors drive. Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool Airports are 1½ hour drive. The nearest train station is approx 6 miles away at Welshpool.

Horse holidays: Long Mountain Centre offers first class accommodation not only for you, but also for your horse or pony. There are 6 stables, all within the farmyard. Grazing paddocks are available at most times in the year. An opportunity to get your horse really fit and increase stamina.

There are miles of safe off-road riding on a local network of bridle paths. In addition you can ride over 54 acres of privately owned farmland and woodland.

We also offer on site pony trekking & Cycle hire

For walkers we are close to Offas Dyke and The Long Mountain and to the South-west are the ancient hills of the Stiperstones and Callow Hill where famous local authoress, Mary Webb, got inspiration for her books.

Visit the Lead mines at Snailbeach or try your hand at shooting on the nearby Minstrelsy Ranges. Quad trekking is available at Border quad trekking just a few miles away. There are also a number of castles to explore, from the fantastic Powis, Shrewsbury and Chirk Castles to the ruins at Montgomery, Ludlow and Stokesay.

Facilities

Lavender, Honeysuckle & Bluebell cabins are fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday including bed linen, towels, tea towels, fridge TV with DVD.

On arrival you will receive a welcome pack with a few essentials to get you started on your self-catering holiday all bedding, duvets, bathroom towels, cleaning products, rubber gloves, dish cloth, tea towels, kitchen roll, toilet roll, cling film, kitchen foil, water filter jugs so you don't need to bring bottled water, a good range of utensils and saucepans.

If there is anything else you think you might need just e-mail and ask.
