Relaxing, excellent walking, fishing and bird watching

Neen Sollars is a small village in a very pretty little known area of South Shropshire on quiet lanes 3 miles South of Cleobury Mortimer. From here you can see the stars at night as there is no light pollution. The village has a pub and a church. Excellent walking, fishing and bird watching from the Hopbarn. Trout or Coarse fishing can be arranged in the River Rea which flows through the village (day tickets 1/2 mile from the cottage) or in the River Teme at Newnham Bridge 3 miles.

The historic towns of Bewdley 9 miles East and Ludlow 11 miles West, the market town of Tenbury Wells (6 miles), the Severn Valley Steam Railway, the Wyre Forest, the glorious romantic ruin of Witley Court (English Heritage) and its famous Baroque Church, Hartlebury Castle and Burford Gardens are just some of the attractions of the area.

The Hop Barn is a detached mellow brick cottage imaginatively converted from old outbuildings which predate the owners Victorian house. A tiny hidden sunny balcony between the 2 gables is an unusual feature and there is a secluded area which is super for outdoor dining. Beams complement the lovely wood floor in the spacious open plan living area which is above the attractive beamed bedrooms and bathroom.

Neen Sollars is 3 miles south of Cleobury Mortimer. From Kidderminster take the A456 to Bewdley and take the Bypass towards Ludlow and Leominster. Keep on the A456 through Clows Top and Mamble. Approx. .5 mile from Mamble turn right signed to Neen Sollars. Follow this lane for 2 miles. 'Neen Court' is a large Victorian dark blue/grey brick house which you will see on your left after crossing the river in the village. To get to it look out for a drive on your left between a new house and a barn conversion. (Second drive on the left after crossing the river.) Follow this gravel drive and brick wall around to Blue iron gates with a sign 'Neen Court'.
