Holloway Farm, Hungerford, Craven Arms, Shrops SY7 9HG

The first floor apartment has been created in the former granary of this Elizabethan farmhouse - this part of the house dates back to 1490. The approach is up a flight of steps which leads straight into the bedroom with its king sized bed. This studio style room is very attractively beamed and has a unique appearance. The apartment sleeps four people, two in the double bedroom and two in the sitting room, which has a double sofabed. Bedding and towels are included in the rental. (There is also an annexe sleeping two available for rent - please see below)

Passing through the bedroom into the passage, there is a beautiful bathroom with unusual timber clad walls, a shower over the large 6’ bath and a heated towel rail. There is oil fired central heating throughout, and extra electric wall heaters, plus a wood burner in the main room… wood is supplied. There is an electric coin meter for additional heating (£l coins)

The garden area is within the main garden of the house, but separated by wrought iron gates. It is sunny, secluded and has an area for sitting out, and a barbecue patio. There are fruit trees all round the walled part, and a lawn to lie out on. The garden is completely enclosed and secure for both children and pets. Well behaved dogs are welcome – please bring your own bedding for them. Parking is at the rear of the house, by the entrance to the apartment.

The main room is 22’ long and has windows on two sides - it is sunny, light and very comfortable. At one end is the sitting area with a double sofabed and armchairs. There is colour TV and video, and a CD/radio. At the other end of this room is the dining area overlooking the garden. The mini-kitchen is within this room, but can be closed off with double pine doors - if you can’t face doing the washing-up! It is very well equipped with an electric cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine, (there is an ariel washing line available outside.)

teenage children or grandparents or friends - sleeps two/three

This apartment is on the ground floor of the house, below the Green Gates Studio Apartment. It has its own entrance, down a few steps from the garden, and comprises a large living room cum diner with kitchen area, and a bedroom and shower room. The living room with its oak beams, stripped flooring and natural pine doors is very attractive and homely, with an open fire.
