17th Century Inn

The Plume of Feathers is a 17th Century Inn nestling under the Wenlock Edge and enjoys stunning views across the valley. The Inn started life as a pair of cottages around 1620. There were originally two inns in the village of Harley. 'The Unicorn' being the oldest, which closed in 1863, and the other 'The Feathers' for which records cease in 1772 and nothing is known until the name is recorded again on the present site in 1842.

The Plume of Feathers is close to many of the major tourist attractions in Shropshire in particular the Ironbridge Gorge Museums, and the towns of Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Telford.

Facilities

The Accommodation consists of nine rooms, some specifically with families in mind. All the rooms are en suite and are fitted with colour television and tea and coffee making facilities.

The Restaurant and Conservatory seats up to 90 guests comfortably, whilst still offering an intimate atmosphere for a leisurely meal. With its own private patio area, and wonderful views over Wenlock Edge the Restaurant is also ideal for small meetings, weddings and other private functions.

The Lounge Bar serving real ale, dates back to 1620 and is noted for its stone walls with ancient timber insets, full sized Cider Press, Charles 1 oak Bedhead, Inglenook Fireplace and Beamed Ceiling.

The Food. Fresh food from local suppliers at very reason able prices cooked by our chefs Mike and Steve. Desserts handmade by Teresa for those with a sweet tooth.
