THE OLD SHIPPON
An 1820 former barn & later cowshed
A recently converted cowshed sleeping up to 8 people , making it ideal for the larger family unit. It was also designed with ease of access for the disabled and elderly , having a ground floor bedroom and wheel-in shower-room. The layout of the cottage is as follows: Entrance into a very large fully fitted kitchen/diner with dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, microwave, fridge/freezer etc. Large lounge with colour TV. and comfy sofas. Long hallway, off which is a ground floor twin bedded room and large wheel-in shower room with wash-basin wall heater and toilet. There are two separate stairways, one leading to a large family bedroom containing two single beds and one childs bed. The other stairs lead to the master en-suit bedroom, furnished with king sized bed, shower room with toilet & wash-basin. There is a further smaller bedroom leading off this room with a small bed, making it an ideal child's room.
The cottage is decorated and equipped to a high standard and is centraly heated throughout with night storage heaters. The Old Shippon is 40 metres from our grade 11 listed farmhouse where extra accommodation is available. There is plenty of parking space and a portable barbecue is available on request. Guests are welcome to help out on the farm.
NICHOL HOUSE & CHRIS COTTAGE
Two converted barn holiday cottages where you can relax on the lovely patio, surrounded by shrubs and plants, or help on the farm which is only a short walk away. Each cottage sleep 2 to 5 people and are set facing the church and surrounding fields in the quiet hamlet of Rowton some 8 miles from the famed Wrekin Hill and about 15 minutes from Medieval Shrewsbury and the World Heritage site of Ironbridge Gorge Museum.
When designing our cottages we also considered access for elderly and partially disabled guests and therefore the main bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor. The cottages are set out as follows: Small entrance hall leading into pleasant lounge/dining room with patio doors leading on to the patio and enclosed garden which looks onto the fields beyond. Compact fully fitted kitchen, a further hallway with the main double bedded room on one side with the bathroom opposite which is equipped with wash-basin, toilet, bath and electric shower, wall heater. There are stairs leading from the lounge directly into the twin bedded room, with a single bedded room opposite which, although private, overlooks the lounge on a balustraded gallery
The cottages are centrally heated throughout by electric night storage heaters, colour television, shower, washing machine (in one cottage only) fridge-freezer, microwave oven as well a conventional oven, garden with patio chairs, barbecue and parking (some under cover). All cottages have ?l coin meters.
Both cottages are decorated and equipped to a high standard with a strong perimeter fence which ensures a safe area for children and pets to play and may be booked together to accommodate the larger family party. They are next to our farm where guests may help out if they wish and where extra B & B accommodation is available in the farmhouse. Some seasonal farm produce is also available for sale and breakfast can be taken at the farmhouse.
