Unit
How it Works
We will
give an initial consultation and full examination involving
the vet and, if required, the physiotherapist. We then create
a programme for that individual involving both the hydrotherapy
unit and our physiotherapist.
For most
conditions we recommend twice weekly treatments, although
some cases may just be once a week. Specific cases may require
more intensive therapy e.g. spinal cases, which may respond
well to twice daily treatment for a week or two as an in-patient.
We also
have equipment we use both in and out of the unit for example
floats, wobble boards and theraballs.
Most cases
will only be ‘wet’ for approximately 20-30 mins,
as any more than this in one session can be exhausting. However
it is best to allow a full hour per session for the full consultation,
physiotherapy and rehabilitation package. In addition to the
hydrotherapy, massage, energetics and therapeutic ultrasound
can be performed.
