The Wrekin is 1,334 ft hill located near to Telford and dominating the central Shropshire landscape. Craftsmen have been producing glass for over 6000 years and the techniques and materials used today vary little from those of 13th century Rome. Our glassmaking studio, viewing gallery & factory shop are set within the Coalport China Museum, deep in the Ironbridge Gorge. Here you can watch the molten glass form before your eyes as the master glassmaker skilfully applies the rich enamel colours, gold & silver leaf, and then carefully moulds the shape to perfection.
