Originally a Norman castle, now retains various medieval buildings, including the magnificent ruins of the inner bailey. The castle forms a spectacular backdrop to the world renown Ludlow Festival, held in the grounds every summer.

The Pump Rooms were built in 1862 at the rear of The Crow Hotel by the Tenbury Improvement Company. The building is a distinctive feature in the town and was designed by James Cranston of Birmingham who based the design on his own greenhouse.
