Starting on the Sunday 15 February staff and volunteers at RSPB Lake Vyrnwy will be celebrating National Nest Box Week by making Nest Boxes. Sessions will run between 11am and 3pm, there will be a cost of £7 per nest box – just remember to bring a screwdriver!

On Wednesday 18 February between 1pm and 3pm young visitors will be able to explore the murky depths of the ponds around Lake Vyrnwy Visitor Centre in Pond Dipping sessions. You might be lucky enough to find a frog or a water boatman, RSPB field teachers will be leading the sessions for budding explorers, a session will cost £1 for members and £1.50 for non-members

Young wildlife enthusiasts will be able to learn more about the RSPB’s web-based project Wildsquare on Saturday 21 February from 1pm. Prices for members will be £1 and non-members will be £1.50, RSPB staff will be on hand to show you the signs of Spring, such as Snowdrops in bloom and Robin’s busy marking their territory ready for the mating season.

Finally, on Sunday 22 February discover What's in an Owl pellet?, where children and adults will be able to dissect owl pellets to find out what Lake Vyrnwy's owls have been feasting on. This takes place between 12noon and 2pm, the event will cost £1 for members and £1.50 for non-members
