To celebrate the occasion 50 Leyland vehicles will be attending the 2011 Rally, and they will also make a live appearance in the main arena during the two-day event at Onslow Park, Shrewsbury on Sunday 28th August and Monday 29th August.
Neil Boughey, Commercial Vehicle Section Secretary said: “Each year a convoy of historic commercial vehicles take centre-stage in the arena as a tribute to the skill and hard work that goes into the restoration and maintenance of these magnificent vehicles. This year’s 140-strong Commercial Vehicle Section will provide a nostalgic glimpse of the past and delight our audience with their power and performance. The 2011 event’s Commercial Vehicle section will feature everything from what will be the oldest Leyland on display at the Rally –a 1931 Leyland bison which is owned by Mr Williams from Holyhead, Anglesey to a 1954 Leyland Comet owned since new, by David Jones of Newtown.

Martin Conod of Leominster with his recently restored 1972 Leyland Marathon which has chassis number 001 off the production line!
Patrick Bradley from Co Derry, Northern Ireland is returning with his 1976 Leyland Bison 6-wheeled tipper.
Andrew Davies is showing a 1949 Crossley coach which his dad brought new.
Ray Steel from Stoke on Trent is bring a 1962 Leyland double-decker.
Henry Maiden from Telford is bring along a 1958 Foden 8-wheeler which he ran and restored a few years ago.
The oldest enrty is Nick Onion's 1921 Ford Model T bus, which ran in the Welshpool area.
Showmen’s engines, traction engines, steam rollers and steam cars are also well represented; Over 1,000 exhibits will be appearing within the popular Rally area, covering 45 acres of parkland. They will include a comprehensive variety of preserved commercial vehicles, lorries, buses and fire engines, steam rollers, traction engines and showmen’s engines.
