The historic site is offering a full day’s workshop with expert individual tuition from the Museum’s blacksmith. At the end of the session, you will have gained a practical insight into the craft and have made several unique pieces to take home.
So your loved one has something to open on Christmas morning, you will receive a certificate and a miniature cast iron anvil, in a small presentation box ready to be gift wrapped. Recipients can then call the museum to book their blacksmithing day, subject to availability.
The informal workshops cost £120 per person and include all materials, instruction, a pub lunch, morning coffee and afternoon tea. They are available to anyone aged over 16 and no previous experience or particular strength is necessary. Participants should wear appropriate dress with several layers and stout shoes are recommended; protective equipment will be provided. To purchase a Blacksmithing Experience Day call the Ironbridge Tourist Information Centre on 01952 884 391. Gift boxes can be posted at an additional charge.
