Every weekend until March visitors will be able to watch the deer tuck into their lunch, from close proximity, at 2pm.
The deer will be fed a mixture of carrots and deer nuts, just metres away from the public each Saturday and Sunday. In addition, the deer will be fed every day during the February half term, at 2pm.
Seeing the deer at such close proximity is a great opportunity to take photos and see the deer at closer quarters, so well worth a visit for children and adults alike.
Head Warden Bob Thurston said: “It’s a really impressive sight as our normally shy deer follow the tractor down the park. It looks like a scene from the Pied Piper, with hundreds of deer following us to get their lunch.”
“Back in October we ordered in over 26 tonnes of organic carrots for the deer, which was a necessity, as they get through half a tonne a day!”
Normal grounds admission charges apply to come and see the deer feeding and for the fair.
