Pretty Witty Nell
Caroline Harding as Nell Gwyn

The Two Friends Production takes the audience on the journey of Nell Gwyn’s radiant yet bitter sweet adventurous life.

Reportedly born in Hereford, Nell rises from the gutters of Covent Garden to become a glittering actress at the Theatre Royal in Dury Lane. Nell survived the Plague and Great Fire to become the best-loved character of her day. Admired by Pepys and the muse of Dryden, she was the popular mistress of Charles II for 17 turbulent years. His last words were of her. With the King on his death bed, and creditors knocking on her door, Nell tells all. An evening of effervescence and irreverence suitable for those aged aged 12+.

Sian Kerry Director of Arts Alive says This is an entertaining , illuminating and amusing performance, a one woman costume drama featuring Herefordshire’s historical totty.”

‘Pretty Witty Nell’ is at Adforton Village Hall, Ludlow on Saturday 6 February. Tickets for this performance should be booked on 01568 770437.
