Friendly, peaceful accommodation in a 17th century farmhouse
Mr & Mrs Jones offer you a warm friendly welcome for bed and breakfast on a working farm. The 17th century house is of stone and inside original, exposed beams give it character.
Acton Scott is an excellent place for exploring, cycling and walking with footpaths leading out of the farmyard. To the north, three miles away, is the Victorian spa town of Church Stretton with it's hills. To the south is wooded Wenlock Edge at a similar distance.
Acton Scott is well placed for a visit to Stokesay Castle and half an hour's drive to the historic market town of Ludlow, the county town of Shrewsbury or the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge. Also close by is Much Wenlock, a medieval market town, the Severn Valley Railway and much to see in Mid Wales.
Acton Scott is in a unique position to give guests an added dimension to their stay if they so wish. After seeing the farm's cattle and sheep, a visit to Acton Scott Historic Working Farm next to it will bring to life farming as it was at the turn of the 19th century. |

It is in the small village of Acton Scott, just under a mile from the main road. This is the A49 from Shrewsbury to Leominster, 3 miles south of Church Stretton; yet it enjoys all the benefits of being in the heart of lovely, quiet country, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
At Marshbrook on the A49 (Shrewsbury/Leominster Road), 3 miles south of Church Stretton, turn for Acton Scott. Go 1 mile, don't turn off at all, we are the first farm on the right just before the farm museum. |
