The Cottage

The cottage is peacefully situated off the main streets in the centre of Wenlock, within yards of shops, pubs and cafes, the Museum and Information Centre, the library, garage, cashpoints, the Priory and bus stops (buses to Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Telford.) Walk from the cottage along Wenlock Edge – fossils, orchids and views! Visit the national award-winning bookshop and butcher (go early to avoid the queues!). The new Leisure Centre with swimming pool and the children’s playground are 10/15 minutes walk away. Farmers, craft, antique and general markets are held on most days of the week.

The small walled garden is ideal for relaxing in after a busy day exploring Shropshire – perhaps with an Indian or Chinese takeaway or after a meal at one of the several pubs and restaurants in the town, all within 5 minutes walk. If wet, watch digital TV or a DVD in the cottage, visit the Arts Centre at The Edge to see a film or attend a function in the town.

Gardens, castles, abbeys, historic houses, steam trains, fishing, riding – all within a few miles of this historic small market town, home of the Olympic movement and only 4 miles from the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge. Within 10/20 miles are the South Shropshire Hills (AONB), golf courses, the medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow, Telford town centre with 10-screen cinema, ice rink and ski slope, and Cosford RAF Museum (free). Something for all the family in all weathers!

Facilities

The cottage is approached from Queen Street/Back Lane through a high brown door in the wall.

The accommodation is completely self-contained and personally managed by the owner. It is suitable for 4 persons, in one double and one twin bedroom. Blankets/duvets and all bed linen are included in the tariff. A cot is available.

The fully equipped dining kitchen includes a dual-fuel cooker, microwave and washing machine. There are tumble and spin dryers in the side passage which also provides undercover drying space and storage for bicycles, pushchairs etc.

The comfortable sitting room, overlooking the garden, contains a digital flatscreen TV. There is a DVD player in the double bedroom.

There is full gas central heating, with additional gas and electric fires. Carpeted throughout.

The upstairs bathroom contains bath, washbasin and W.C.

Parking is available adjacent to the cottage on nearby roads.
